On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the MiSide Celebration of Impact Gala was a resounding success, with an impressive turnout of over 260 supporters gathered at the Roostertail. The event raised more than $555,000, which will directly benefit families in Detroit through MiSide’s core pillars: MiSide Health, MiSide EarlyYears, MiSide Wealth, and MiSide Housing.
Throughout the evening, attendees were moved by the powerful personal stories shared by individuals whose lives have been transformed by MiSide’s programs. Myra and Isaiah shared how MiSide Housing brought them home, while CJ’s testimony about his journey to sobriety through MiSide Health struck a chord with many. Oyuki expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she has been given since joining the YouthBuild program through MiSide Wealth, and the Orozco family story highlighted Jose and Theresa’s unwavering commitment to finding their children the support they need through the MiSide EarlyYears program.
The night also honored Mayor Mike Duggan and Reverend Larry Simmons, who were presented with the prestigious Clement Kern Award for Social Impact in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the community.
All proceeds from the Gala will support MiSide’s mission of providing vital services to families in Detroit, further strengthening the reach of its programs across the city.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, this year’s Gala was a memorable and impactful celebration of the community’s commitment to helping families thrive.
