Curriculum and Learning Environment
- Lesson plans are created by staff with weekly themes that promote early learning.
- Activities meet standards of the Creative Curriculum, HighScope Curriculum for GSRP, and Michigan Licensing Standards.
- Provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment with discovery centers for play and exploration.
School Readiness and Development
- Focus on ensuring children are ready for school with age-appropriate goals.
- Continuous program from birth to age five for a seamless educational experience.
- Emphasize social-emotional development, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
- Strong teacher-child relationships are central to learning.
Teacher Support and Training
- Offer specific and appropriate training for teachers, including intensive curriculum training.
- Provide professional growth opportunities and require a minimum of 16 hours of annual child development training.
- Ensure all staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.
Cultural Competency
- Provide culturally appropriate services and annual training in Cultural Competency and Ethics.
- Encourage families to share cultural traditions to integrate into classroom routines.
- Use interpreters when needed, including ASL, for effective communication.
